This extraordinary wildlife preserve offers some of the best birding in Sarasota County. Only a little walking will be involved. The trip involves driving to a number of different birding sites with limited parking. Entry fee for Myakka River State Park is $6 per car.

The state park opens at 8:00 AM. Please arrive promptly. Our meeting point will be the south parking lot. Take the first right just past the entrance station to the parking area. After signing the liability release form we will car pool together because of the limited parking. At 8:15 we will drive to meet our guide Sharon Wilcox at the Myakka river bridge.
