The purpose of Venice Area Audubon Society is to promote an understanding of and interest in wildlife and the environment that supports it, and to foster the cause of conservation with emphasis on birds and their habitats.

Venice Audubon Center

From September through May, you can attend free environmental programs at the Venice Audubon Center, and visit our Butterfly Garden, irrigated by rain cisterns, or our new Purple Martin house.

VAAS Rookery

During the nesting season, from November to May, the Rookery provides photographers and other visitors spectacular views of many bird species nesting in their natural habitat. The Rookery is part of the Great Birding Trail, in the South Florida edition.

Field Trips

Venice Area Audubon Society has a lineup of several dozen trips each season to local, national and international birding destinations. All trips are open to members and non-members alike.
