Whether
you’re new to birding or a seasoned, life list eBirder, our field trips
offer a variety of birding experiences and are open to members and
non-members alike. In addition to the familiar morning or evening field
trips, three BirdingPlus daytrips are on the calendar. Come explore
parks, preserves, beaches, sanctuaries and more with Venice Area Audubon
Society. Be aware of the weather and dress accordingly for the location. Bring water, insect repellent, sunscreen, hat, sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, binoculars and/or camera to help you enjoy the outing. Participants are required to sign our liability waiver which can be downloaded and brought with you; leaders will have copies of the waiver to be signed at the meeting place before the field trip begins. Field trips are free but donations to VAAS are always appreciated. Some locations may require an entrance fee. BirdingPlus Field Trips will require registration and a fee is charged due to the nature of the activity. Reservations are only required for a few specified field trips. Otherwise, please arrive at the gathering spot a few minutes early to meet the field trip leader and/or host for the walk. If participants carpool, please be aware that Venice Area Audubon does not have insurance for carpooling arrangements and assumes no liability for them. Carpooling, ride sharing or anything similar is strictly a private arrangement among the participants. Participants assume the risks associated with this travel. Occasionally a field trip may be cancelled due to weather or other conditions beyond our control. If we know in advance (trail repairs in process, park closure, etc.), we will do our best to update the field trip status on the website and Facebook. You can always keep in touch with the field trip leader for additional details and questions. BirdingPlus Field TripsWe’re on the road again! This season’s day trips offer birding PLUS education opportunities at world-renowned conservation and research facilities, expanding our awareness of wildlife conservation, human impacts, and changing environments on the many bird and animal species we appreciate and strive to protect. Meet conservation experts and learn about a wide variety of research efforts taking place throughout Florida. Come along for the day, meet new people, enjoy the wildlife, and learn something new! |
